Mission & Purpose

Welcome to the “Citizens for University Place Schools” website. Our goal is to keep you informed on local efforts to support the University Place School system in maintaining the quality education that we have all come to know and appreciate in our small community.  Every four years, the UP school district is required to ask local voters to approve levies to support our educational programs. The funds raised by these levies account for nearly 12% of the overall operating costs of our schools. The district cannot campaign for these measures and is limited to providing information on the ballot measures that they propose. This citizens committee is organized as a non-profit with the expressed purpose of campaigning for these critical funding measures. Information on this site is meant to keep everyone informed of our activities and to provide the community with an opportunity to get involved in keeping our schools running smoothly and efficiently through our active and collaborative involvement.

Please join us and consider a donation of time and/or money to support these efforts so that we can assure a bright future for the children of University Place.

WE NEED YOUR HELP to pass two replacement levies and a school construction bond to replace Sunset Primary, Chambers Primary and the oldest buildings at Curtis High School!

The election is February 10, 2026 – less than 50 days away! School bonds require a “supermajority” of 60% YES voters to pass.  A successful outcome will require support and active involvement from many in the community. Please join us in this effort!
